Kickoff Workshop

The SAS4SD kickoff workshop took place at ETH Zurich on 20-21 November 2017.

The object of the kickoff workshop was for all project collaborators and members of the advisory board to meet each other, to discuss the goals, challenges, and implementation strategies of SAS4SD, and ultimately to set the stage for the 3 year project. 

The most important achievements were that the partners got to know each other personally and professionally, they developed a joint commitment to the goals of the SAS4SD project, and they identified key issues to be addressed in the elaboration of the project. The discussions about implementation confirmed that flexibility must be built into the project and iteration may be necessary on the various pillars (data collection, teaching material development, research, and community initiatives) to ensure that issues of relevance to Ghana and Cameroon are addressed in a targeted, practical, and effective manner.
