Ghana Teacher Workshops
In August 2019, 5 collaborators from Swiss institutions joined their Ghanaian colleagues on a mission to Ghana. The mission included:
- A meeting with representatives from the Ghana Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Ghana Educational Service (GES) to discuss their ongoing UN:CC Learn activities in Ghana and possibilities for joint collaborations. The SAS4SD high school teaching modules on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation and Climate Smart Cocoa Production were shared with our EPA and GES colleagues.
- A workshop with 40 teachers from Senior High Schools across Ghana. The participants were mainly Geography teachers responsible for TAHMO stations in their schools, but in attendance were also IT, Agriculture, Integrated Science, Biology, and Physics teachers. The teachers were introduced to the SAS4SD teaching material on "Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation."
- A workshop with 10 teachers from the 2 SAS4SD pilot schools: Bibiani Senior High Technical School and St. Monica's Senior High School. The teachers were introduced to the SAS4SD teaching material on "Climate Smart Cocoa Production" and were guided in data collection techniques outside.
