Ghana
In 2019, workshops were held in Kumasi, for 40 teachers from Senior High Schools across Ghana. The participants were mainly Geography teachers responsible for TAHMO stations in their schools, but in attendance were also IT, Agriculture, Integrated Science, Biology, and Physics teachers.
The teachers were introduced to the SAS4SD teaching material and were challenged to incorporate TAHMO data and information about the weather, climate change, and science action into their lessons. This challenge is called SAS4SD in Action and has led to school-based activities centered around the TAHMO weather stations.
St Monica's Senior High (Mampong) and Opoku Ware School (Kumasi) have been selected as SAS4SD pilot schools. With funding from the Leopold Bachmann Foundation, Green Clubs were established in these schools as well as at 6 additional schools.
