Blue Schools Kit
The Blue Schools Kit was published in 2018 as a collaboration between the external page Swiss Water & Sanitation Consortium and external page Eawag.
The Blue Schools Kit contains reference materials for school authorities and teachers to introduce games, experiments, creative activities and excursions that help children learn about water and the environment.
The Blue Schools Kit guides education authorities, school stakeholders and civil society organisations to work with upper primary and secondary school students to transform their schools into Blue Schools through activities such as gardening and waste management.
The Kit is freely available in English, French and Spanish, external page here and includes the following:
- Download Catalogue of Technologies (PDF, 8.7 MB): Low costs technologies that can be implemented in a schoolyard or its surroundings with particular focus on sustainable land and water management, gardening and solid waste management.
- Download Facilitator's Guide (PDF, 5.7 MB): Provides a visual support to introduce or strengthen extra-curricular topics. Suggests learning objectives and refers to the Catalogue of Practical Exercises for inspiration.
- Download Catalogue of Practical Exercises (PDF, 9.4 MB): Provides ideas to introduce the topics with hands-on exercises that complement the theoretical lessons and use simple materials at little to no cost.
