Green Clubs

SAS4SD has been awarded a 2 year grant by the Leopold Bachmann Foundation to establish Green Clubs at St Monica's Senior High School (Mampong) and Opoku Ware School (Kumasi). The Ghana Youth Environmental Movement is responsible for implementation. Further details here

NEWAL 2020

Three ETH MSc students who took part in the NEWAL winter school in Ghana in 2020 completed their theses. For further details here

Bimbilla SHS

The teachers have been challenged to incorporate Science Action in their classrooms. Through hands-on experiments, students are learning about TAHMO weather data, climate change, and concrete actions for climate mitigation and adaptation. Details here

Teacher training workshops took place in 2019. SAS4SD teaching material was presented and teachers learned about TAHMO weather stations, meteo data, and actions that can ensure sustainable development in schools and communities. Details here

A concept note for Green Schools in Ghana has been developed. SAS4SD is now approaching local NGOs to establish partnerships for the implementation of action-based-learning in secondary schools.
